how long are you estimating it will take for ukraine to fall?

minimum 1 more year. but truthfully if Russia were to ever win this probably takes them alot lomger than that....Putin will only win this if hes willing to suffer massive casualties but Russians historically have never minded that so :manny:

US has been intervening for the last year, which has been giving them momentum again the Russians.

No doubt, the Ukrainians were on the back foot in the early months of the war.

Not really. What I remember is Russia getting pushed out of the North mad quick and a 20 km traffic jam of armor and trucks in the East. And then....now.

When exactly was Ukraine on the back foot for...months? Months?

Only thing I can think of when it comes to Russia losing, I think Putin didn’t want to fully mobilize on a “lesser” country, especially when he thought it was going to be easy and the fact he declared Ukraine his. Not saying this as a Russia lover just saying when you see how they performed in the crimea years ago and how it took everyone by surprise to this cluster fukk it just doesn’t make sense from a strategic nor tactical POV. Unless Russia purged its top leaders and went through a series of economic hardships this my opinion of it.

They rolled over Ukraine 8 years ago because they didnt fight for Crimea, now theyre fighting for theres and Russia's only way to advance is doing what they always do in these conflicts and thats throw alot of bodies at it....

taking a small peice of land near the border =//= invading the entire country...

Russia's military never had the capability to takeover a NATO trained and equipped Ukraine...

They honestly relied on Russia sympathizers in Ukrainian government to push the country into their favor

When the Ukraine government purged itself of Russia Loyalists... they were fukked

Russia didn’t want to go to real war.

The wanted Ukraine intact to reap the spoils of Ukraine’s access to the Black Sea and farmland. Russia didn’t want to rebuild roads, bridges, and place new infrastructure( they can’t even fully repair that Crimea bridge in three months). That’s why they started off talking about how Ukrainians were just Russians by another name.

The 2020 version of Hearts and Minds except we were prepared to rebuild infrastructure with foreign contractors.

Make a Russian government with less corruption, free press, and no opponents falling out windows to win back those countries with economic prosperity ….

Insert Steve Buscemi f—k that gif

Use the kind of military force and intimidation that made these satellite countries vote to leave and join NATO in the first place
