Surely if Russia blocks off Ukraine access to Black sea that's a win for them right?

This whole invasion would be seen as major win if they did that.

They already control a great portion of the Black Sea belonging to Ukraine when they took the port of Kherson.

When they take Donbas they'll probably focus on the port of Odessa and southern Ukraine in general.

Ukraine will also lose access to the Sea of Azov when Mariupol falls.
