Russian strategy is that they believe a nuclear strike will deescalate a situation. It’s called the “escalate to deescalate” strategy. Meaning first strike capability will be used to cripple the wills of western powers to retaliate. It’s an old Soviet Union policy that Putin may still adhere to. Crazy.What is the strategy behind firing nukes first?
Like how does Putin see that as a win in the long run for Russia?
