This book can really help one understand the formation of Latin American culture, and how it came to be. I think it's a great book for those wanting to learn more about Latin America history and culture.

I enjoy creative writing, so I like to read fiction novels to improve my writing. I know that I want to write black young adult fiction. I am also considering science fiction and fantasy writing. This is basically a prequel to how the Wicked Witch of the West came to be.

Dope, we need more writers in this area

Your opinion on Selected Writing and Speeches of Marcus Garvey?
It was a great read, but most of the speeches I've read already. This book would be a good intro to Garvey for people who haven't read his works. But if you've read Garvey's other books, then this book has nothing to offer you.

You mind sharing in your own words what this is about and what you got from it? There was just a brief summary on amazon and trying to figure out if this is worth adding to wish list

Sure, I am still reading it but John Bellamy Foster is a well-respected leftist thinker who has worked a lot to bring to the fore the ecological elements of Marx's thinking and how capitalism is ecologically unsustainable and utterly devastating. This book is in that same vein as he explores how ecology fits with Marxism to make for a radical environmentalist critique of capitalism (and a vision for a future in which humanity and nature are liberated).

I'd definitely recommend it, great read so far
