at this whole thread. People cant honestly be shocked that this raw drew very high ratings. It was right after the second most popular ppv of the year and had news of the Rock winning his first wwe championship. Like some have said in this thread, I had cats that haven't watched wrestling in damn near a decade hitting me asking me what the deal is and was tuning in.
The Rock brings in fans, money, attention. There is no debating that. I'm all for having the Rock show up whenever the hell he wants because of the attention he draws back to wrestling, plus, has stated in this thread, it seems like the creative side pulls their head out of their ass and at least ATTEMPTS to write some co-herent and interesting stuff.
I dont get all the hate aimed at CM Punk. I think its straight unfair to label him the worst drawing wwe champion of all time when as we all know Cena was still, for all intents and purposes, THE TOP guy. He was still maineventing.
Punk had a great reign, one that will go down in history, and I think his character is all the better for it, especially with this loss because now he can go off into a tirade how he was screwed out of his steak, it can drive him crazy and make him more determined to get the title back and break his own streak or even state that since he was "screwed" out of his streak (not withstanding the EC match) he wants to "screw" the wwe fans and beat Taker for his streak. There is so much you can do now with Punk character and he can def. pull it off.
Plus we got the Heyman/Brock/Shield stuff.
On the flip side we're for sure getting Rock V Cena II now. I doubt they do a triple threat match with Punk. And yes, its gonna draw money, attention, ratings etc. Im not on the board of directors I could care less about that stuff.
Can you honestly say you're gonna be looking forward to the build up between these two again? With he same characters they have? I'm aint really. Cause none of them are turning heel. What made Punk/Rock more enjoyable to me was a clear defined face and heel. We aint gon get that, just more of the same stuff we saw last year.
