The show tells me some things I suspected but hadn't confirmed about why The Rock seemed to connect with the Samoan side more.

based on season 1 it seems like his pops never took him around his side of the family :patrice: they def need to have some episodes showing that in season 2

also i gotta say upon some rewatches Lia is easily the MVP of the ‘82 episodes, this whole story of her getting investigated for extortion is straight comedy :heh:

crazy how Rock was so depressed about not making it to the NFL when little did he know he’d go on to become one of the greatest wrestlers of all time :wow:

just goes to show if your plans don’t work out in one field don’t fret too much cause there may be something much bigger in store :wow:

yeah but it’s up to you to make the changes to ya life breh as cliche as it sounds it’s some real talk

2019 was the dumpster fire of a year for me personally that 2020 was for the world, i got in a car wreck and totaled my whip, lost both my jobs, someone got shot and killed outside my complex then i got evicted like a month later for not being able to come up with rent cause i lost my jobs then got pulled over and arrested while trying to do DoorDash for unpaid tickets then my car got impounded and repo’d shortly after that

then i had to take up a dead end job at a restaurant, i was 29 working with a bunch of 17 and 18 year olds making some chump change :snoop:

i turned all that around through diligence and now i’m living in my own crib even nicer than the last one, got a nicer car, got a great job with the highest salary i’ve ever made and things are looking up like a mofo :wow:

as far as the women believe me when i say if you get yourself in a good state mentally and physically they will flock to you breh, chicks like dudes that look like they are trying to be the best versions of themselves so you gotta do what you can to be that

:salute: keep ya head up breh

Yeah very interesting never seen rock talk about his father's side of the family. I mean I have seen his pictures with his half siblings and all but never heard him talk about rocky Johnson's father.

He does talk about what his dad did for the culture and calls himself half black half Samoan though.

new season dropping in Feb and a Christmas episode next month :ohhh: they been putting in some serious work

NBC's Twitter account gave its first look at a special Christmas episode of Young Rock, set to air on Dec. 15. The photo from the episode features all three actors playing Dwayne Johnson in various time periods (Adrian Groulx in 1982, Bradley Constant in 1987 and Uli Latukefu in the 1990s) as well as Andre The Giant (Matthew Willig) dressed up as Father Christmas. It was confirmed earlier this year that Young Rock would be getting a second season, and based on the casting rumors the show will be extending to other year's in Rock's upbringing

Along with Rock's father, Rocky Johnson, the show brought one of the biggest figures in pro wrestling history to the small screen in Vince McMahon, played by Adam Ray in the 1982 timeline. Brian Gewirtz, a former WWE head writer and an executive producer on Young Rock, spoke with ComicBook earlier this year about that casting.

Season 2 of Young Rock is scheduled to premiere on Feb. 23, 2021. Stay tuned for full coverage of the season when it arrives!

Filming for season two of NBC’s “Young Rock” continues in Australia, and now word is that the second season will feature WWE Superstars from The Rock’s rookie year in WWE.

The “Young Rock” producers have been casting for Triple H, The Undertaker, Downtown Bruno Lauer (aka Harvey Wippleman), and The Brooklyn Brawler, according to PWInsider. Lauer made a cameo as himself in the first season, but season two will feature a fictionalized version.

There are also plans for a Memphis-themed episode for season two, which will feature a “Superstar” Bill Dundee character. It was previously revealed that season two will feature version of several WWE Hall of Famers and legends, including Jerry Lawler, Tommy Rich, Bam Bam Bigelow, The Rock’s grandfather “High Chief” Peter Maivia, Gene Okerlund, Big John Studd, Freddie Blassie, Nikolai Volkoff, The Great Kabuki, and Mr. Fuji, among others.

Producers have also been re-casting several Hall of Famers and legends from the first season, including Ric Flair and Roddy Piper. Flair is being re-casted because actor Matthew Farrelly, who portrayed Flair in season one, is no longer available as he’s working for WWE NXT as Grayson Waller, and is living in Orlando, far from filming in Australia, where he’s from.

“Young Rock” season two filming is expected to run through January. The ten-episode second season is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, March 15, but there will be a holiday-themed special episode on Wednesday, December 15 at 8pm ET.

The Christmas special on December 15 is titled “A Christmas Peril” and the synopsis reads like this:

“Christmas Eve, 1982: An unexpected guest shows Dewey that this is the first in a long line of terrible Christmases. In 1987, Rocky and Dwayne take jobs as a mall Santa and elf. In 1993, Dwayne reluctantly spends a disastrous Christmas with Coach O.”

Stay tuned for more on “Young Rock” season two.
