Good casting in terms of guaranteed numbers...don't know the Luke cage character enough to know if its a good fit...but I'd like to see Rock show a little versatility he plays the same charismatic joker every movie...he's almost become elvis with muscles and tan

From the linked website it just references an interview Kevin Fiege did where he said he would like to cast The Rock in a Marvel movie. And the Rock has said he'd like to play Cage.

John Singleton had been trying to make a Luke Cage movie with Ving Rhames since Rosewood. I've been waiting on Luke Cage and Black Panther movies since was a kid.


I like the Rock, he's got alot of charisma but I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. He's not BLACK ENOUGH for Luke Cage. The Rock is one of those "Ethically Ambiguous" actors who picks and chooses when he wants to represent African Americans. Luke Cage is a strong, no-nonsense, proud BLACK Man through and through. Cast a "genuine" African American for this movie. Michael J. White could NAIL this role...
