No one ever had a problem with it lyrically. That was never a major criticism of the album. For me where this album fails is giving you an entire album of disposable lyrics. You leave this album thinking you heard the fantasies of a grown man reminiscing on what used to scare him at night. I feel like this entire album didn't give me one bit of substance, and I can't go for that. It just didn't do anything for me or impress me in the slightest.

Em was gone for 4 years and he came back with VENGEANCE on Relapse. He did EXACTLY what y'all wanted him to do, and that was to go back to that Slim Shady personal. From a lyrical stand point, Relapse was one of Em's best albums.
I don't get where are the hate came from all of a sudden. That infamous "accent" was just an excuse for nikkas to hate. To be honest, I don't get HOW u can hear a song like Stay Wide Awake and just say that it was wack I just CAN'T!

And I do wish Em would have just said 'fukk everybody" and released Relapse 2. I mean he could have just released it as a free mixtape on his website or something. I mean he should have just released that just for the fans that wanted to hear it..oh well

honestly it's one of the only eminem albums with the type of production that i would actually like to ride around to, i never deducted points from him based on a lack of whip appeal, but compared to to his other albums it probably has the best overall production package for that, even moreso than recovery seeing how the beats were kinda drowning him out a lot of the time
