While i don't care at all for cac-centric award shows, still
to Don Cheadle for winning the golden globe for best comedic actor for his role as Marty Kaan.
Truth be told, while still enjoyable i'm not as engaged in this season as i was in last years just yet. In season 1, even with all the corporate fukkery and titties for shock value, what i enjoyed the most was the dynamic between Marty, his ex-wife, and the black stripper (April?) who ironically enough seemed the most wifeable of the two. His son was also the most tolerable when he and April were playing off each other imo. I mean ol girl was basically that needed medicine for that family and was on that type of cute shyt that had me rooting for things to work out with her.
Right now, its hard to care about this Marty/Jeanie angle simply because Tamara (Nia Long) is too damn sexy to not be the main love interest
The ex-wife and son bits are ehh to me but thats only b/c i don't really care about the son. like i thought her character development with everything that happened in this ep was cool... but its still all centered around the kid and gay shyt aside he's just not that interesting or charismatic.
So far in season 2, the client fukkery and titties are still in full effect but so far its less about Marty's family life and his interpersonal relationships/inner monologues.. and more so about about everyone else. Which isn't a bad thing, but Marty's personal life and reflections were part of what i loved about the 1st season.
With that said, Larenz Tate hasn't even shown up yet and he plays Marty's lil bro, so we'll see where they go with that.
