Republican voters don't care at all about policy anymore, it's strictly about loyalty to Trump.
Like a lot of other people have said, the GOP is a personality cult. And I say that without hyperbole.
They have to be at this point. Their platform is absolute trash so they not getting voters the honest way. Trump is their Reagan even if he’s a lying sack of garbage. The Stefanik broad went from raising $800,000 in funding in her early campaigns to raising $13 million after becoming a Trump fan girl. It’s easy math for a political sellout with no moral code.
On a side note: If I’m keeping it a buck, I can see why Trump is popular. He’s gets people talking. But he’s just so fukking stupid, a virulent racist and he doesn’t have common decency like a normal person. In an alternative universe if he was a normal person, I could see Trump running as a Democrat, and using the same bravado but with a Liberal slant which is essentially why people liked Andrew Cuomo before the MeToo stuff. We like that brash slick talking New York sh*t. Just not when it comes attached to a horrible person. Had Trump been halfway normal, he might’ve had a real Presidency. Instead he tried to bring the Jim Crow era back
