They are happening with Republican Mayors.
It was a rhetorical question because the article was super vague. The ONLY major Republican city they used was Jacksonville. What they didnt say about Jacksonville is it is a city-county merger so the city limits are large and cover a lot of rural area, thus the Republican mayor. Ask yourself, why didnt that article break down further WHERE in Jacksonville those murders are happening? Because it'll blow up their story. They list several democrat leaning cities though and we know for a fact it's the democrat leaning areas with the huge increases in murder.

A lot of that is due to shytty crime laws. A third of the murders in Houston last year were made by violent criminals out on bail. A few years before that Harris County was heralded as a champion because it elected all Black female judges...

At the end of the day it's not democrats fault entirely and it certainly isnt republicans fault either. But this is a multi decade long culture issue that needs fixing. But also it's fact that the major crime increases arent happening in republican areas unless they have democrat voting areas within it skewing the numbers
