Yeah. I hear you. You definitely don’t get that hip hop vibe like you do when you click on Drink champs for example :prodigylol:
Still, I think they are doing a good job with it.
That being said, Drink Champs is really bad sometimes, Noreaga talks over guests all fukked up and spitting at the mouth, background crowd interruptions, sirens etc. I'd love a happy medium between the two, I'm probably just being too precious.

Combat Jack was probably that but even then i got sick of his dikk riding questions and fanboism at times.

Not even abut the hip hop vibe because some of the better interviews I've heard of hip hop figures have been from people not necessarily plugged into the culture.
One of the best Prodigy interviews I heard was when he appeared on FanBros podcast.

Since the audiobook, I F'ed with all of P's projects and interviews.

These "The Realness" hosts seem like they found out who Prodigy was the day before they started recording the podcast, and are just too far removed from mobb deep to be effective doing this series.

And they are clearly biting off of the "Mogul" series that Combat Jack did about Chris Lighty

==================================
The Combat Jack "mogul" series was more suited to his strengths because as an interviewer, he was not good. When they had Dallas Penn there and DJ Benhamen....playing music it was good...but just CJ interviewing people was boring.

The Ice T Final Level "podcast....and surprisingly, Taxstone , were the best hiphop podcasts in terms of being informative and entertaining.

Snoop Dogg's, 'GGN' podcast. :snoop::ufdup:

Questlove's podcast. :ufdup:

But, Noreaga obviously holds the crown.

If they edited Nore's podcast it would be much better.........glad that he pays homage to iconic figures but do we really need to hear him say "give you flowers while you can smell them" 25x per episode?

The episodes when he's talking to artists/figures from Queens are always good because they start talking about shared memories of places & events.

I had to put Noreaga on timeout until the end of summer for three reasons;

  • His podcasts are way too long. I just don't have the time to sit and pay attention to damn near 2-4 hours of middle-aged drunk men even if the story is what I want to hear. For me that's just too much SMDH lol.
  • His giant joke shop teeth dentures have changed the natural cadence of his voice and now he slurs every word whereas if you listen to a song or an interview from him pre 2004 he sounds like you'd expect.
  • DJ EFN butting in to mention for the 1000th time that he's from Miami and knew DJ Khaled in 1996 before he blew up.
You're right, if he could just condense the interview like every other podcast out there and demote DJ EFN to nothing but the podcast's programme director (which I think he already is) then that would improve the show 10 fold.

the faith episode was petty good...and I'm getting through the Metta World Peace once right now, and it's pretty interesting since they have that queens connection like you mentioned.
Wasn't he a goon running around with 50 and Yayo's 134 All Stars or some shyt?

I swear I remember hearing that he was into the street life before basketball took off for him.

Im not sure about all that? All you hear from QB cats growing up (Havoc, Mega etc) was that every time you looked outside the window he and his pops were playing ball.

I think I've heard an interview from Tony Yayo and he said he knew him and they used to run together.

Yayo doesn't embellish the truth or lie so I believe him.:ehh:

It doesn't sound far fetched if you think about the time in NY they were growing up in.:picard:
