cause Cuban Linx 2 REALLY pissed me off because Rae had been KILLING IT on mixtapes from 2005-2007 his songs from that
era

I went back and listened to Cuban Linx Pt.II yesterday and online that album and then started listening back to random songs from his mixtapes like the Vatican and Rae definitely dropped better songs and performances on his mixtapes leading up to the album

Lol, he did sound like he was half asleep on the album

Op I wanted to dap you cause Mega is in my top 10, maybe even top 5, but cuban linx 2 blows Realness 2 out of the water. Realness 2 is still dope but I have it on the lower end of Cormegas discography. Cuban Linx 2 is a classic in my eyes.

Come on dude. That album alone saved the shyt show that was 2009:

• That transition in the Intro from the the first album outro
• Way grimey and caught that feeling of 95 in a 2000s setting
• A DOOM solo track

The only gripe I had with the album was how bloated it was and even then, I would play that jawn in full over The Realness 2 which was wild forgettable. And this is coming from a big Comega head.

I think nikkas just bought into the hype because the more i go back and listen to it, the more I see how overrated it is

2009 was a drag and bore but there are 2 albums from that year that are far better than Cuban Linx Pt II

In fact, State of Grace is better than all of Cuban Linx Pt. II

2009 was a wack year for hip hop, a lot of forgettable shyt dropped that year

Yeah that year was just WOAT .

I remember just checking out after the godawful BP3 album, and even Born Like This felt like a dud (This is coming from a big DOOM head). I moved onto Christian Hip Hop and Charles Hamilton mixtapes at the time

Yeah that was a year where I was like “I need a break from this shyt because this ain’t it”

To this day, I still have NEVER listened to The Blueprint 3


I get why Born Like This felt that way for a DOOM head but for someone like me who wasn’t really a DOOM head like that, that’s an album that I go back and listen and enjoy listening to more now. It’s actually held up nice

I love the vatican tapes but they were not better than cl2 stop. Only reason they approach is bevause og cl2 tracks started leaking there and then didnt make the album because they leaked.

You can def make a track for track classic with all the cl2 tracks.

Cl2 isnt perfect by any means but 20/30 tracks released for it were high tier

I mess with The Realness II but it’s really not close to OB4CL2. The latter is one of the best most worthy follow ups to a classic you’ll ever hear. Realness II is just a dope album, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
