I don't think all the men were gay. I went to school with the son of one of the victims.
Also, the lead investigator who broke the original story just wrote an article saying the series sensationalized and exaggerated a lot of stuff and many things were outright fabrications.
Like I guess the series portrayed his apartment smelling like decomposed bodies. She said that wasn't true. She was one of the first to enter his apartment and she said it had a slight chemical smell which was obviously used to break down the bodies.

He says he knew it was nude pics and was there for that tho.In the testimony he stated that he intended to meet back up with his friends because they intended to go hang out later with some girls and Jeff gave them the wrong adress. But he states repeatedly that he is there because of the pictures and claims he needed the money. And Jeffrey told all of them the pictures would be nude. Him and his friends discussed doing it and he was the one who took the offer

As far as Netflix from a writer standpoint it's easier to have a central location for as much of the action as possible. Not a big deal.

Exactly. They are using a gay bar for others that he met in other places as well too in real life. Including white folks he either killed or just drugged. It’s a show and makes the story flow better having a central location. And trying to convey to us from the beginning that the main character is homosexual

I would tell anyone skeptical about this series being in some anti-black shyt to keep watching. It is exactly the opposite. In fact the main point the docuseries tries to get across to the viewer is that it was the system of white supremacy that allowed this serial killer to keep doing what he was doing, by showing a utter disregard for murders affecting the black and brown community. It makes it very clear and makes no excuses for why he dude what he did. It’s going to show his back story to show how he became what he became, but it’s not meant for us to feel sympathy for him. He killed a black deaf man who went through far more adversity in his life, but dude was a piece of shyt and still killed him even though he Sympathized with him from a loner standpoint. It is a great series in how white supremacy works and how black victims are ignored by the justice system.

I was talking to my pops about it the other day. As he was in his 30s during the time and was frequently out during the night life in Milwaukee not at any gay bars but had ears to the street.
Hear is what he had to say.
-JD worked at a chocolate factory downtown (supposedly putting body parts in the chocolate), the chocolate factory closed and moved and the property is now the Milwaukee bucks stadium.
-JD supposdley had killed poeple at his grandmas house of the west side of milwaukee before moving into his north side apartment.
-Supposedly JD had cooks out often, and the food was very salty.
-At the time of the killings the police chief was an openly racist mexican.
-At the time of the killings Milwaukee was damn near law less, lots and lots of prosititution and drugs, people going missing was not a concern, at all.
-A black inmate killed JD and another racist inmate at the same time. The other racist white inmate killed his wife in Milwaukee and tried to blame it on two black men, but was caught later after some kid came forward and said he bought the murder weapon a week before at the mall from him. (like I said very racist time)
