No this is not about people coming in the game being honest in their music

This is about these generic rappers who attach to themselves this shtick of making "real hip hop" and bringing "hip hop back".

These corny rappers that come in with this generic martyr complex as the ones who are making "real hip hop" just to grab on the internet cynics and their cynical music tastes

Its like every second I gotta see up and coming artists come in with this whole shtick and it's just pathetic. And to see how many of you guys fall for this generic character is amusing.

Anyways just wanted to say that. I also find it funny, even though i live in brooklyn, it pains me how much these artists want to put themselves of this illusionary box of "real hip hop" because they are afraid to do something outside of the box and be criticized for it.

Real recognize Real:obama:

Really when I wrote this I had underground local artists in mind that I know who abuse this gimmick to death

But a popular rapper that fits into this I guess would be Lupe...in an indirect sense.:manny:

Nah...the real rapper gimmick has to be the most generic gimmick and Im glad to see how much they fail when they continue to reach for the underdog audience of hip hop. They are so scared of people's opinions that they attach to them this martyr complex of "tryna bring hip hop back" just so people will over romanticize their craft.

I respect the Lil B's, the 2 chains etc. because instead of pandering to the safe zone of reverting back to the style that will easily get them the small fanbase of what i like to call "the HH forum heads" they do things people may not recieve well and take the artistic risk of being mocked, rejected and thrown in the bushes

Kendrick doesn't abuse this gimmick but he still benefits from fans with that mentality
