The Cody has told about his name over the past few years. Dude spent literally years swearing he could be Cody Rhodes anytime he wanted but he just wanted to go by Cody so as to not live in his dad's shadow but in reality he just didn't want to admit WWE had it trademarked. Which is weird because it only would have made him more sympathetic and WWE more of the bad guy. And then as soon as he starts booking all he does is try to do every booking gimmick and name his dad did anyway
