there have been multiple movies, one oscar winning, about the catholic church scandal.
not to mention hundreds of thousands of words written in the biggest newspapers across the country, Doxing priests and archdiocese members before "doxing" was a thing.
the catholic abuse scandal has been something talked about in public ad naseum - still not nearly enough in my opinion - but do not forget or pretend like hundreds of investigative journalists and thousands of victims didnt work together to bring this into the light. worked tirelessly.
just because the exposure was pre-hashtags doesnt mean the Church didnt get exposed. the catholic church is a fukkin joke now, even to people who grew up in it.
also i would bet money there will be a liftetime made for tv movie about Nassar and more importantly, a real documentary about how the olympic governing body failed those girls
its hard to sweep things under the rug these days. everyone is being called to task. even if Weinstein skates on his charges ...like R Kelly did...he lost his company, name, reputation and backend points on movies he made. hes finished and his name is synonomous with rape now. just like the catholic church's name is synonomous with rape and pedophilia now. no one is getting away with shyt anymore man...and just because Kells is getting this documentary doesnt mean that hes getting railroaded while the Church skates free
the Church has been publicly linked to sick shyt for over 2 decades, its common knowledge at this point
