i honestly cant stand this dude r kelly...he just ignores that hes an old man, and should be making grown man music...but he insists on trying to do whatever is trending at the moment...

its sad seeing him walk around in his wannabe 2 chainz and kanye outfits these days :snoop:

the word business is bigger than the word music.

R. Kelly has to sell albums. Did you buy the last 2 albums where he made grown up music?

He's making what people want to buy

Love Letter sold more records than Black Panties though

Its crazy, because the originals lyrics were a simple song about among other things, his estranged sister......

I gotta agree,as much as he inspired great things in the rnb game he also started that rap-sing-talk shyt that these nikkas are allowed to get away with constantly now in rnb....he created a open lane for a lot of dudes who can't really sing who should just be song writers to be able to be rnb singers....but he wuz doin the rap singing talking thing on "The R" album and I hated that album but alotta people like it:manny:...I think he mixed it up enough tho we had Chocalate Factory,Happy People albums where he showed his singing abilitys....Kells made sum good songs about thuggin tho and his flow on the first song:ohhh::russ:...that Untitled album wuz very underated to me too

Damn, you're really my brother on this R. Kelly stuff. :wow::salute:

I really disliked that album too. To be honest I dont think I even made thru the whole second disc.

Maybe I'll give it another listen someday though, but overall just something about it I didnt like. The self-titled album before it was great, and TP2 after it was great, but I just never dug it.

:salute: I might revisit it too,its been a loooong time since I last listened to it. If I recall tho it wuz him transiitiong into singing/rapping and doing it over a lot of spanish guitar beats:patrice:....I think the bad tracks just really stood out and the good ones didn't really stand out outside of a few classics:heh:...the 2nd disc is the worst of the two....definitly shouldn't have been a double disc:whoa:....he had a streak goin when he wuz just writing and producing his own albums, then he switched it up on R album:snoop:

That R album isn't good

Why do so many people like it?
Half On a Baby was a huge first single, and it coined a catch phrase.....When a Womans Fed Up was/is a classic........then the song with Keith Murray and them was a fav for alot of people since it put R. KElly in the hip-hop game....I never liked that song tho

:snoop: The Spanish guitar era makes alot of hip-hop and R&B from that time sound completely dated now.
