I played the P4Arena demo and wrote it off as a generic fighter, heard the Vita version was better with some RPG elements but
I thought P4A was just a stripped down version, not a completely different game

Yeah Plus is a must. I got the Liberation bundle and haven't bought a game since. Have 14 games on the Vita now, thanks to Plus.
