Not just beat, he'd have to knock out Sean, and then really beat Danny. Even such whoever comes out of that clash is gonna fight Brook or Vargas/Bradley etc. etc. point being 154 and Thurman isn't worth talking about.
Canelo couldn't knock out Cotto who started his career at 140, so why does Thurman need to knock out Sean. If he keeps winning a fight with Canelo will be on the horizon.
People forget Sugar Ray leonard went all he way from 147 to 175 in his career.
Spence and Thurman are natural welterweights not guys who moved up from light weight like the last era of welterweights.
Canelo's size wouldn't be an issue.

So the only way he would fight someone serious if it's a big money, domestic fight? That's the only exception.
Khan did the same except not with domestic fights. He didn't want with Thurman, Porter, Brook, only with Pac, Mayweather or after them Canelo and he cried and ran his mouth so long that he finally got his big money fight against Canelo when he got knocked the fukk out but he even won on it cause people said he was brave to fight a bigger guy.
Can't respect Brook for wanting Khan if it seems like the only thing cause he wants him is the money and otherwise he isn't that confident at all cause in his free time he chooses Frankie Gavins and doesn't seem to be keen to fight Bradley, Thurman or other good fighters.
He still lives off of his ugly Porter W but that wing won't legitimate everything he does... He needs to step up his level of competition again and not only if he gets the Khan fight. Now he will fight Vargas, who is better than Gavin but despite his belt is obviously not better than B- level.
Chances are Brook will be a unified champion in 147 with a run like:
Porter, Jojo Dan, Gavin, Bizier, Vargas...

hard to argue these points. I was one of the few people who was a proponent of Floyd's final fight being against Brook for the IBF belt to unfiy the division
