My Christmas gift to myself. 15 altima that I brought on the 3rd. Too bad the weather has been shytty since then. The nonstop snow and salt on the ground got her looking a bit gray

For one...the F01/01 Bimmers has Injector problems and up until recently....all 8 of them were pieces of shyt... easily over $6k to replace them... the battery cable on my bimmer just had some shyt went bad on it...and being that the battery is in the trunk...the cable runs through the car...i had to drop $2400 just to replace the fukkin piece of cable....i mean i can go on and on...but long story short...i'm selling this bimmer in the summer and probly copping the new C-Class.

Thinking of getting some tints on my ride. What's a good %tint to get so the cops don't go crazy on pulling me over?

I also got a question about remote starters. If I buy an aftermarket one will it fukk with my warranty? I got one for my last car but it was long after the warranty expired

If I'm not mistaken there were several issues, that could be resolved with simple repairs, with the vanos system (bmw's variable valve timing implementation).

As someone who has worked on cars all his life, when I hear the repair costs I just know for a fact that the cost of the repair almost never reflects the real work.

For instance, when having electrical issues, these establishments will often tell you that you need the ECU replaced which often costs thousands of dollars.
Firstly, electrical issues are almost never the problem of the ecu, this is something that is a problem with the electrical harness short circuiting which explains the intermittent issues often associated with electrical issues.
Second of all, OEM's buy ECU's from suppliers at 1/10th to 1/15th of the price. As an example, I worked for a large supplier of braking ECU's. We sell them for about $120 dollars. To get a replacement from an dealer costs $1450 dollars for the ECU alone. This markup cannot be explained with logic.

I say that to say, if you know something about vehicles you can often do much of the work yourself, or talk these guys out of robbing you.

I like the new altimas, I plan on keeping my maxima for atleast another 2 years (it will be paid off in like 7 months) and I might get me an altima next depending on how their 2016-2017 models look like, because ive seen some pics of the new generation maximas and i dont like em

Anyone got a VW? Thinking about getting a Passat, but not sure about the maintenance. How much do they usually charge for things like oil changes and what not?

yep. i have a 2013 VW CC. not too expensive for maintenance. kinda middle of the road. more expensive than a comparable honda or toyota, but less expensive than a BMW or a Mercedes. Oil changes are between $75 and $100 depending on where you go. but the oil change interval is from 7k to 10k miles, so it kinda evens out in the end.
