Here's just ONE THING that Joe Biden could concede to the Left, for example. Universal healthcare, just like every other major country has had for a long time. It doesn't have to be Medicare-for-all, it just has to be universal healthcare in some way, shape, or form.

"Progressives" will NEVER take over the rape or pilliage parties, IT CAN'T BE DONE.
They will allow rabble rousers like AOC and Bernie to sheep dog, drum up energy and small dollar donations from the people for optics for sure.
What 'progressive' candidates can do is advocate for our causes in the mainstream, they can run PR campaigns but watch that video and tell me how we are supposed to take over the non-democratic party/corporation.
You can support/endorse 'progressives' all day, but only as a mechanism to make our case and undermine the duopoly. Drum up support for our policies within the party and when they get fukked over, their disaffected supporters no longer can be hit with "You have no place else to go!". So yes, push 'progressives' in BOTH parties for PR and concentrate on becoming a group big enough to sway elections, both can be done at the same time, in fact they need to be done at the same time for this to work.

A coalition of leftist groups formed a party in 2004, went from polling around 4% to capturing the presidency in like a 10 year span. The media here will be more of an obstacle but it's not impossible. And like I said, this doesn't mean not to run/support 'progressive' candidates within the two parties, but more so as advocates for policy and every time they get fukked and people get sick of being treated like battered wives we give them shelter.
