Johnny looking at Bailey work like :leon:

What's crazy, is that in the book it stated that as huge of a help as Bailey was during the trial, he had a couple of fumbles...He was a known alcoholic..who swore the alcohol made him a better lawyer (which it probably did)...but he was getting up there in age.

During the trial, he celebrated his 62nd birthday by borrowing a friends house in Beverly Hills and throwing a party the entire weekend....needless to say....when trial resumed Monday morning...he was out of it and as a result...phuked up terribly on a witness....so bad, that during the court break...Johnnie pulled him aside and said "Get yourself together man....you trying to make this guy look dumb and he's making you look dumb" ...OJ was furious and told Johnnie he never wanted Bailey to cross-examine a witness again.

A few weeks later though, Bailey won back their confidence and was back on the starting team. However, the defense team always worried that Bailey's personal instabilities would overshadow his genius in the courtroom. However, that never happened.

Yeah most people nowadays just assume he said the N word based on the tapes allowed in the trial but he did a lot worse stuff as a police officer that seems to have been glossed over
Yeah they didn't even play the parts where Fuhrman is talking about how much he hates seeing white women with black men and going on about planting and manipulating evidence in great detail.
I've looked it up, and I've seen it said in many instances.
That appears to refer to being the defendant on trial. As a witness the rules are different.

Fifth Amendment Right Against Self-Incrimination - FindLaw
Can Any Witness Plead the Fifth?
At a criminal trial, it is not only the defendant who enjoys the Fifth Amendment right not to testify. Witnesses who are called to the witness stand can refuse to answer certain questions if answering would implicate them in any type of criminal activity (not limited to the case being tried). Witnesses (as well as defendants) in organized crime trials often plead the Fifth, for instance.

But unlike defendants, witnesses who assert this right may do so selectively and do not waive their rights the moment they begin answering questions. Also, unlike defendants, witnesses may be forced by law to testify (typically by subpoena).

Ehhh..
They could've conveyed that with him grinning like a mob boss in the cut after the last 5th plead.

It wasn't the shows goal to show his "growing frustration" with racism, hence depicting him as AL Sharpton with the chants at the press conference scene or showing him grinning at the video they played of Fuhrman in court

Also that mad dash huddle in the middle of questioning undermined the strategic genius of the Dream Team (sans Shapiro).

Not only did Cochran not do the examination, but had he did, running for an in game huddle to get passed his next question, would not had been his M.O. :dwillhuh:

I know F. Lee Bailey conducted the first cross-examination months earlier....who conducted the 2nd? If it wasn't Cochran? The show is based on the book of the reporter who was there everyday....

I'm convinced he was hittin that bytch and those tapes were his pillow talking diaries.. Either that or he thought he would have an eventual payday.. Either way, he had to have felt he was doing theses interviews under conditions of anonymity and nothing was to come of them :manny:

In the book it's heavily implied that he was...but never flat out stated it.

EDIT: She also paid him $10,000 for 11 hours of interviews...one hour per session...which was good phukin money in the mid-80s
