I do miss the days of the more outlandish Batman villains. Not everything needs to be “grounded” and “realistic” throw some batarangs and smoke bombs breh!
Reeves has said he thinks a grounded Freeze can work. There's an iteration of Clayface where it's just a failed actor good at disguising himself and Eve has the same last name as him.
But a lot of the "comicy" shyt will definitely be in Gunn's version.

...This grounded lane is gonna carry him thru his trilogy and he's been delivering even though I wasn't a huge fan of The Batman on it's own. We just have to accept this and the DCU wouldn't mingle properly.

Continuation of the movie. Outside of the first minute about the flood and Carmines murder not much was reiterated.
I never saw the movie; so maybe thats why im lost in some of these replies

Damn breh. I saw it and even had to rewatch after the first ep. Anybody I recommended the show to I said at least watch a recap or suttin cuz it hits the ground running.
Still not very enthused by The Batman but enjoyed this.
One thing I didn’t like was how much they tried to sell this grounded, not a “comic book”/superhero show right up until they need something comic-booky to move the plot forward.
I feel like the same style of writing can be applied to something that doesn’t seem ashamed of the source material and come out even better.
I can’t wait to see how they find a middle ground with the DCU Batman content but I’d take a couple more of these villain led limited series from the Reeve’s verse. Give me a Richard Kuklinski style Mr. Freeze
