What a great show. I knew Vic’s fate wasn’t meant to make it, but wasn’t expecting Oz to do it.

I really liked how the first half of the show it focuses on how you think Oz cares for those close to him, and they drop hints to show otherwise, and the last half just blatantly shows how much of a POS he is.

With the layers and themes of classism and disparity gap in The Batman and this show, how likely are The Court of Owls in this universe?


Riddler wanted to get rid of the elites and the corruption - but how deep does it REALLY go? Was the flood perhaps meant to flash members of them out?
Maybe you can have an aspiring new DA in Harvey Dent that veers too close and get turned into Two Face for it

They're probably gonna conflate Hush and the Owls because they're basically the same villain. Funny enough Riddler in the Batman looked like Hush if you squint. Don't forget Oz mentioning the Eliot bridge a few eps ago. I doubt that was a throwaway line

Then this episode Jesus she looked so defeated and embarrassed sitting in that car with Oz Bytch had her all red sexy villain shyt on, had her girl power boss bytch burning down the house musical sequence, only for her to hit the when them nikkas finessed her ass now you in the backseat looking out the window on some 8 Mile shyt

Oz had her on that long ass car ride thinking she was about to die just for her to find out she going to Arkham again for bodies she didn't do

Still not a big fan of The Batman but DC can make a good differentiation point by making its villains straight up psychotic

This was essentially always the point

Batmans most prominent villains have distinct psychological disorders

Studios and writers have become overly focused on Batman as an action hero

God damn every depiction from the actors was so great. Every actor brought their a game.

Great series, having a show off this quality after what they did on that Fox Batman show, we deserved this. Only complaint was how easy Oz escaped from Sofia lol, did they tie him with shoe laces??

The last two episodes:

- Oz gets captured and manages to escape because one of his goons turns off the power
- immediately after Oz then carelessly let's in an unvetted car which has a bomb in it, and then he escapes again
- immediately after Oz is captured yet again, tied up to a chair with only tape as restraints, wiggles himself loose with only one goon nonchalantly trying to stop him, Oz then grabs him and uses him as a shield to protect himself from the only other goon in the room. All the while Sofia and Dr. Rush stand around watching this unfold without doing anything, and then they cower behind a table, watching as Oz escapes again carrying his mother, when this muh'fukka can barely walk.

To make matters worse, Sofia then puts all her chips on the table to whomever can capture Oz, again, only to fall into a trap.

The deus ex machina used here is hilariously bad.

It's the very thing I pointed out after the last episode where we know Oz's life isn't going to be in any grave danger, narratively, so you've got to convince the audience that it could be, because if you don't, you run the risk of flatlining, ultimately undermining whatever tension that could be used to propel the story you're trying to tell (which is exactly what this show suffered from).

In the process, they completely b*stardized Sofia's character into a plot device: first making her out to be cunning, sagacious and full of vision, and then turning her into an object that is used entirely to progress Oz's arc. We go from her meticulously plotting the demise and death of her family and taking over their operation, to then capturing and carelessly letting Oz escape, over and over and over and over again.
