you sure you don't have "ubersampling" on?
the game can be pretty intensive, but I was able to get good performance with an nvidia card
and if issues were nvidia specific, why would they be affecting your 280x?
Yep, tried with vsync off and ubersampling off. I'll download Afterburner and plan on trying it out in the morning/afternoon. Right now I'm just reinstalling the game and hoping that fixes. If not, then I"ll deal with it in the morning. fukked up that this is the only game to really cause issues like this though.it's still one of the best looking games IMO. anyway, idk, could be a windows 8 issue
turn vsync off. make sure ubersampling is off. and make sure fraps isn't recording
I'm not an AMD guy, but I think MSI Afterburner can display a bunch of info on what your gpu is doing

you want to monitor your gpu usage (%), and clock speed. if you're getting bad framerates, and your gpu usage is less than 99%, then you know the cpu is probably the bottleneck. basically the gpu can't even reach it's full potential because it's waiting on the cpu. if you see the clock speeds aren't where they should be (you can look up what your gpu's clock speed should be), then the card is throttling for some reason. if your gpu usage is 99% and you're getting bad frames, the gpu just can't handle it. none of these things should be an issue with your hardware and this game, but here we are, and you're getting bad performance...
Okay, I don't know whats going on. Maybe the beginning of the game is unoptimized as fukk. I reinstalled it and I'm trying to play and move away, and the cutscenes are all 60fps and what not, but it fluctuates during gameplay now. I checked the thing and it said the GPU was hovering around 66% By clock speed do you mean core clock? Its at 1020 which i think is the max. I'm gonna open it up and take some canned air to the insides tomorrow and see if that helps in any way. Lookin a little dusty.
