Because Cam's a professional now and that's not what pro's do. I get it though. Freedom of speech and he's a widely popular guy. Dudes just stirrin up the pot.
The coaching staff is OK with it since they won't be saying or doing anything about it. Cam has the whip now. If he leaves Carolina so does Ron Rivera. Inasmuch as doing so is possible, I prefer professionals with a platform that take advantage of said platform to voice the things they believe in, rather than defer to the void and do what some inane number of people want them to do. What good is power if one does not positive or noteworthy with it?
In my mind, Cam is a better professional than Tom Brady, and Peyton is a better professional than Carson Palmer. All are worse professionals than I would like, for none truly use their platform as fruitfully as they could for the best cause they can find.
