the ending sucked
"More is better than less because if there's more less stuff then you might want some more and (the game developers) won't let you 'cause there's only a little. We want more! We want more! Like...you really like it. You want more" - Little girl in the AT&T commercial
That's what it boils down to for me. This is a good game but it could have been great if the developers' focus was more on the aspects of gameplay that make you love a game. After I finished The Order, I got The Last of US a couple of weeks later. I wanted to compare the 2 because they were both dubbed as a cinematic gaming experience. When I first started played TLOU, I didn't get what the hype was about. The opening scene didn't move me that much and it took a minute to get into the action and I was ready to say that all the criticism for The Order could be said for TLOU (long and frequent cut scenes...even though you can skip them in TLOU, a lot of walking, QTE's, etc...) But as I played TLOU more, I realized that the difference between the two games is that you have to be smarter in TLOU. And I think that's one of the biggest problems with The Order is that, while it is fun to play, it's way too easy. Also, there is just more to do in TLOU. While playing The Order I wasn't too bummed that there wasn't alot of items that you had to search for and pick up but when there was something to pick up and all you did was just look at it and it essential did nothing to move the story or the game along, it just seems like such a waste of time to even put in the game. There really is nothing to do in The Order except go around and shoot. Thankfully, that aspect of the game is fun and is done well. For the sequel, I hope the developers will take note of the criticism and just make the game that we were expecting.
