I am fine with Manny Diaz especially with Coach Kool coaching our Dline. I want to know who are DB coach is going to be because a depth is shyt.

Also looks like our new Strength Coach is going to be Dr. Pat Ivey.

Diaz is aggressive, thats a start. i know his Texas years were ugly, but they also havent been good there in his 2 years since leaving

he has a solid track record, Aranda would have been a home run tho

edit: 2013 was really the only bad year, got fired early in the year but had huge results in 2011

Texas had the 9th rated D in 2011, 32nd in 2012

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | 2011 NCAA S&P+ RATINGS, DEFENSE

i get that him being an 'example firing' in '13 is a blotch on his record, but lets not act like he was a disaster. La Tech led the nation in turnovers forced, then he went back to MissSt and had the 40th ranked unit this year. the guys above average, Kool will help with the pass rush secondary coach is still a huge hire

it should be noted that while Miss St's ranking was meh, they were 7th in redzone eff this year.

theres alot of smoke about Dr. Ivey, S&C coach of the year 2013

Allison looked a little nervous out there with some weak throws, but hes gonna sit and learn. Haskins wasnt any better, QB play usually pretty meh in these all star games

Dionte got so much faster, just throw his junior tape out. quicker, faster, bigger

one last Diaz tidbit: La Tech went from 119th to 19th in one year under him. they had never finished that high in def eff

after over 10 years of wanting more aggression, ill take a guy with a rep for maybe being too blitz happy Mississippi State's new defense is designed for maximum disruption

Jaquan and Jenkins have the athleticism to be 2-high safeties, it all comes down to the CB2 and CB3 spots. this can work.

I think the physical, attacking defense fits Jamal Carter's skill set too

The defensive ends will eat the most tho, AQM and Chad gonna wreck shyt

im pulling for Chad, this is the year he needs to make his name known. Dee Jackson and Trent Harris already have produced more, now that Kool in the house the DL need to wake up. no more excuses, especially with Willis in the middle

Stacy Searals new OL coach, long body of work including stops @ LSU/Texas/ Georgia and most recently VT. well respected, seems like a nice hire

Corey Raymond likely to be extended by LSU, i think we might have to wait a bit for secondary coach. still hearing Ivey for S&C maybe it gets done today
