But this year power running, running game in general and feature backs have returned because LBs got too small and teams geared themselves to stopping pass over run.

The running game has a bit of a resurgence because defenses were getting beat by WRs like Tyreek Hill going deep.

Defenses started playing safeties back.

That has opened up more short passing and called run plays.

NFL is better at countering styles of play. LBs got smaller and teams has more nickel and dime packages to offset the passing game being prominent.

That's because they have more time to scheme and game plan. At worst 4 days and at best 10/11 days between games.
