It worked out for the best. He was able to be a different character for a while and incorporate elements of that character into his old character. He was playing a more modernized Undertaker that could perform well in the ring.

But I get why he didn't like the idea at the time. He originally played the Deadman for almost ten years and wanted a change of pace. He got it for a short time, then all of a sudden, someone says you need to go back to your old character.

Big Evil came out and just rode straight to the ring, but Undertaker's deadman entrances are almost as long as tv shows

As an avid undertaker fan his ABA work is his most varied role it definitely limited how he is looked at as a overall wrestler. The gimmick has hurt and built his legacy as much as any wrestler ever.

I thought Biker taker was wack, i had to back track to realize he was actually good through out 2001 and 2003, i got bad memories of him when he first showed up all as the character after judgement day

Nah, even before he became Biker Taker, his character went through different transitions. Grey Glove, Purple Glove, Lord of Darkness, Ministry, Biker, Big Evil, the Dead man again. He's even acknowledged that himself and others on his This Is My Yard DVD.
