I think they've also gone back to using the models on the VS screen as well, sometimes going backwards can actually help in some instances.

I wish they would put Hurricane's clothesline back in the game
Lol, the majority of those moves were already in the game, or in previous games, or are just slightly reanimated. AJ's entire damn moveset has been in the game since like 2003. Yet now, all of his moves are "new".
