This dude Weidman has everybody on his nuts these days.
i know what you mean but it seems you can have unrefined talents but with a wrestling base and youth the sky is the limit. We saw it with jones and now weidman is being afforded that opportunity. If lyoto ends up being no 1 contender weidman would've defended his belt against 3 weathered vets who are primarily strikers..I think the jury is still out but you can see the blueprint to the hype zuffa are manufacturing right there

KO's are about Timing, and thats what weidman is good at it, he's also quicker than Gegard who's always being kinda of methodical plodding guy

But Machida is above Weidman in both timing and quickness. I think Weidman wins too, but via wrestlefukk or GnP TKO at best

I'll be pulling for Machida though. :blessed:

Lets be real. Hes two most impressive KO are not really a true testament to Weidman's skill. Munoz is trash who always rushes in chin up. And Silva was clowning. Lyto will move in and out like he always does. Weidman is too slow striking wise to stay with Machida. Hes best bet is to get him to the ground early

Weidman has better striking then Gegard who was able to tag him a few times, plus he hits harder and more accurate
the way lyoto moves in out is dangerous, if he gets caught while coming in it's lights out, he has a hands down a lot even before he was tiring

I don't think anyone's taking machida down at MW, he went up against guys like Phil Davis and Tito at LHW
Gegard slowed him down with the leg kicks, he just doesn't have any explosiveness on his feet, and machida was just as good technically on the ground if not better, so he really had no chance to win, he's like a slower less skilled version of machida

Machida's hand speed masks that a lot of punches don't even land but it looks impressive

Weidman has power, Machida can get touched, Gegard did a good job cutting off the cage at some points, he just wasn't creative with setting up his punches
And who is the best fighter gegard beat Babaloo, or whatever fukk his name is, dude is ass.
