Him getting all not guilty was always a best case scenario.
Megan cannot claim he shot her without being sued for defamation if he beats that assault charge which is looking likely.
Not how civil cases work. Criminal cases have very little impact on outcome. Just ask OJ.
Also, the burden of proof would be flipped and shifted on to Tory. He would have to prove that Megan is lying and that he didn’t shoot the gun. A lot higher of a bar than just keeping quiet while his lawyers seed reasonable doubt. A civil suit probably forcing him to get on the stand and testify. Which you can’t avoid in a civil trial. Plus a deposition. Which would require him to answer all types of wild questions.
Companies, Billionaires, Nuns, and Angels bring civil suits. People with skeletons in their closet stay in their lane.
So all signs point to he don’t want that kind of smoke.
