Petty crime escalated to murder in Brampton stabbing: Peel police
n an update Friday afternoon, Acting Superintendent Martin Ottaway said up to five males were committing minor property offences, including thefts from vehicles, on Lanebrook Drive near Castlemore Road and Goreway Drive.
At around 2 a.m. two men, a father and his son who live in the area confronted the suspects.
Police say one of the suspects stabbed both men.
Glensbert Oliver, 63, died at the scene, police said Friday afternoon.
His son, aged 40, remains in hospital with injuries from stab wounds. He’s expected to survive.
Ottaway said all of the suspects
are black males in their late teens or early twenties. They fled in a dark coloured SUV.
