Thought about this the other day what was the peak time of this city as far back as you can remember as an adult?

I think it was late 2000s early 2010s

I moved to Ottawa in 2012 and came back in 2017 and was shocked at the difference. However, I was noticing signs of decline before I even dipped

Toronto was done by 2010, when Ford got elected, G20 went down, real estate prices started rising, condos started getting pumped out, traffic started getting stupid

Mega City was the first and most painful blow, late 90s....by 2006, chum sold, no much music, speaker corner, conglomerates took over everything

By early 2010s, all the key clubs and landmarks from Sam the record man to Honest Ed's to Guv :to: closed

I was born in the early 80s, im grateful to Allah for allowing me to spend my childhood, teenage years and adulthood up to late 20s in Toronto before 2010-2012

my lady is down in your city this week for work. she says toronto is very similar to chicago except cleaner. I wanna go visit since the american dollar is so much stronger than the canadian dollar, so I assume my money will go much further out there.

I've been to Chicago, got love for your city, enjoyed my time there

You're on the money, Toronto is a cleaner less iconic Chicago minus the legacy of segregation, (south/west)

Partying in Toronto was so fun in the early2000s. Club district was amazing. Then Gov on fridays. Even thursdays were bumping. Toronto completely fell off around 2012-14.

Social media/economy killed nightlife in every city in North America..restaurants/bars empty

Other parts of the world still in 2006 mode
