Most of these employees are unionized workers, governed by the language of the collective agreement. Employers have to use the language of the collective agreement to justify the termination, and that will be hard to do, unionized employees are protected by "just cause" clauses.

These terminations will be different from nurses being terminated because hospital nurses are also unionized but their collective agreement includes vaccinations, City employees does not. Tricky situation for the City, it would have been easier for them to put them on leave without pay indefinite, like the federal public service is doing.

I know a lot of of people are pissed with the lockdowns. So my question is, if so many cases are happening and hospital numbers are going up, what is the solution/? Shold they just leave restaurants and clubs open? etc

I can go to eatons centre with a little cloth mask over my face and sit at a bench for 6 hours being surrounded by thousands of people, but I can't eat at the keg or go sit and watch a movie for two hours.

That's what I'm saying...cycling half measures for 2 years.

Either lock it all down or open it all up. We've been saying this from the get go

I read some of the "influencers" are stuck in Mexico.

I read it was on a Sunwing flight, every Sunwing flight I've been on wasn't a private Jet, idk if they were actually vaping and partying on it but what makes them think that was okay

so just got word from ontario health that long term health care workers have to have their 3rd dose by March 2022 , i'm pretty sure it will trickle down to us next and then other businesses

yup yonge and steeles one of the few malls that had a canadian tire. I'm pretty sure that shoppers world in brampton is also going to be torn down to make way for condos.

Small malls like this are on their last legs, many stores can't afford the rent and the land owner can get more by selling to a developer for condos.

@trick i'm sure bridlewood and woodside are on their last legs as well
