The conservatives won the popular vote. More people voted for the conservatives than any other party.

The Bloc won more seats than the NDP, from less than half the votes.

The PPC 812k+ votes but left with no seats.

the fact of the matter is Justin is a celebrity and Libs will get the votes from the large urban centres. He will be here another 10 years. Has the newer immigrant vote and the older immigrant vote (because of his dad) locked up. Get used to him. We are stuck with him.

Harper was in power from 2006-2015. Trudeau now from 2015-2021. Multiple terms are the norm if you look back at recent history (Chretien, Mulroney, Trudeau Sr)

When you get near the decade mark, you inevitably get vulnerable. Whether from your own party (ambitious people wont wait in the wings forever - look at Paul Martin vs Chretien) or through emergence of a stronger candidate. Trudeau is an effective campaigner but hardly a juggernaut. Everyone eventually loses.

Every riding in Toronto was a liberal. The liberal candidate at my sister's downtown riding was kicked out of the liberal party for sexual harassment allegations, and guess what? He still won

Montreal too. Whoever wins Ontario and Quebec wins the election. The interesting part is that both Quebec and Ontario are run by Conservatives provincially but federally the party has been shut out of gains three times in a row.

While in the Harper years the Liberals controlled both Provinces provincially. People always gravitate to balancing the two levels of Government against each other in Ontario and Quebec.

Honestly, I feel the problem is the NDP. They are suppose to be gaining seats from the left, but in reality they drive more people to vote Liberal.

I like Jagmeet's energy and heart, but it's not translating to wins. It's a failed experiment thinking he would help them easily scoop up votes/seats, especially in Vancouver and Toronto where it matters the most.

Not happening. Like how the hell are they getting out muscled by the Bloc in 2021? With all that national coverage and stage time given to them?

at this point the only thing they can do is push the liberals more left on issues and hold them accountable when it comes to progressive issues. But they're not what they used to be.
