Which route do you take?..first day of work i fukked around and took the 401 back home
Keep in mind i get off work at 5pm
Took me close to 2hrs
I take hwy 7 now..and back streets
400 stay in the right lane all the way to jane(wilson), then backstreet my way up keele, then wilson down to dufferin, then hop on the highway at yorkdale, then 401 to progress
way back 401 at that time is a pos sometimes i say f it and take 401 to 404 and hop on the 407 but even then 404 is crawling, sometimes i stay in the 401 till i see it say very slow then hop off at whatever exit and take backstreets home, sometimes i stay 401 to 400 if its clear and then get off at rutherford, or sometimes i get off at finch on teh 400 and take backstreets home
every day a different journey
it sucks
and yeah 401 is the worst, i got a transponder but that $$ adds up and the 404 is slow as well during rush hour.
I feel your pain..for me going to work isnt really an issue..since i live off steeles i just take back streets to steeles and woodbine then take steeles all the way to weston at 8am its not too bad i get to work in 45min
Its going back home at 5pm thats the problem..if i dont be careful it will take me an hr and a half to get home.
Sometimes i cant deal with the traffic so i say fuk it and take the 407..but yeah that toll can add up if you take it every day..for me its like $7 each way..do the math and ill be spending close to $200 a month to save like 25min in traffic
Taking weston to hwy 7 and then hwy7 to woodbine and then woodbine to denison and then deniston to mccowan seems to be the best route for me going home ill get home in an hr
Whats your commute time?
Yup, I'm hoping when the subways come it alleviates some of the traffic,
in the morning i leave like 645 to reach work for 810. Coming home I get off 430 sometimes if im lucky I can reach home like 515, many nights i dont reach home till 6pm. In winter ive had days when I didn't reach home till 7pm.
the messed up thing is on a saturday morning leaving early i can drive from my house to niagara falls in a hour and ten minutes
Man you live far as fuk ...i hope your job is worth it
its not
I used to take the bus and had to leave at 5am
mine not really worth it either..i get decent pay but i know i could do better...if it wasnt for my side hustles i dunno breh....and i got a degree..school is a joke
school is a joke, only perks at my job i get off at 12pm on friday, flex hours and benefits, and at one point i may be able to work from home. I had a job at old city hall but i was only on contract and they didn't renew it after they did for a few times, liars told me i would have been full time
schooling is a joke nowadays, if i knew what I knew like 10 years ago, i would have just applied to ttc and work my way up. I have friends with just a gr 12 diploma who are bus drivers for yrt and ttc making better money than me driving buses.
I've been on the ttc waiting list fo rlike 2 years now hope i get a call back
what were u doing at city hall? Id imagine they paid well esp if you were on comtract
old city hall, working for the ministry of the attorney general, i used to eat off the overtime . And I got paid weekly at the time, sometimes after taxes i was taking home like 1,800 a week as a young 21/22 year old.
now im 28 and , job market sucks. I see the bs jobs my work post barely paying anything and talking to supervisors there getitng like 400 applications and stuff.
I just want to drive a damn bus , my uncle works for ttc just in the booth at leslie and bessarion and almost pulls 6 figures.
Crazy...the reason i asked is cuz id never would think theyd hire a negro..a 21yo negro at that and pay him that kind of gwop these cacs can surprise you sometimes...very rare tho..
Yeah i been lookin into working for the ttc..anytime u working for the city your seeing bread
