Impact Wrestling is set to make a big international announcement this week, according to a new report. PWInsider reports that sources in the company have revealed that a “major international announcement” is coming on Thursday morning.
There’s no confirmation as of yet regarding exactly what the announcement will entail. Both WWE and AEW have been expanding their international events with the likes of All In and Money in the Bank taking place in London, but as of now there’s no word on whether Impact’s announcement will or will not be along those lines.
Word is that they was suppose to do a UK tour back in 2020, then the lockdown happened. The Australia tour was an success for them and they've been hitting up Canada for the past two years, so I wouldn't be surprise if they do an event over in the UK.Might be a UK tour or tapings
It helps that the X Division title is always treated in high prestige just like the World title. In an interview with MuscleManMalcolm (via Fightful), Lio Rush spoke about what the Impact X Division title means to him, saying he values it more than the World title.
He said: “It feels appropriate. It feels great. It feels amazing. This belt is historic. When I look at this, I look at IMPACT as…this is IMPACT. This is the World Title, to me. This big red X. I’m holding it with pride. It feels appropriate. I feel like I’ve helped influence this generation of wrestlers just like the X Division title has helped influence my generation and so many other generations. I knew from that point on things were going to change and things were going to elevate. I knew that it was officially my time. I’m holding this title, and I’m going to do a lot of great things with it.“
