It revolves around the turn of the 20th century medical game. The growing use of experimental surguries and such. The Knickerbocker hospital is fighting to remain relevant in 1900 New York City and is being led by chief surgeon Dr. Thackery who is addicted to cocaine and all fukked up....but a genius.

The acting and directing is all worthy of an Oscar-caliber major motion picture.

All kinds of people like to throw out the term "best show on TV" for every damn thing they like. The Knick is one of the few shows who is actually a legit contender for that title.

Theres nothing like shows that shows elicit drugs being used as legal medicine in the early days...sounds like some boardwalk empire shyt..sold..time to fire up the torrent and get the first season. I only pay for hbo and showtime unfortunately

You forgot to mention the black excellence of the assistant chief of surgery being black and the best, most educated Doctor on staff. How he earns his respect while working through all the racism.:wow::myman::salute:

I think you can get it on HBO Go right now breh since HBO owns Cinemax.

And if you can't get it on HBO Go, you can very likely watch it ON DEMAND on your cable provider if you have HBO. I know I can watch it right now and I don't have Cinemax

I'm speaking of Season 1 obviously....season 2 will only be on Cinemax


The closing surgery scene in episode 1 will instantly hook you. Its so fukking amazing. One of the best scenes I can ever remember on TV
