Period hospital drama doesn't have me goingwhen hearing about it, but I was interested in The Knick because of Clive Owen and Soderbergh along with critics hyping it up.
Watched the pilot and have to give it the. You can tell Thackerry is going to be on some fukery during the show, even though he was being racist to the new doctor he still wanted to learn from him after he saw what he did
Didn't realize they had ambulance workers fighting over dead bodies back in the day. When ol boy was ready to fight, but the big dude brought out the baseball bats on some.
I liked bearded doctor, that whole scene where he told the nurse to get Cocaine Thack and he had to stop her on some do you know where he lives or how to get there
That's pretty much how it went in those days. Health and safety organizations were privatized so they needed to get jobs to make money. Which means that sometimes houses or entire blocks went down in flames while the firefighters were fighting each other over who would get the job to put it out (and thus get paid). Outside of this show and in a limited context, Gangs Of New York, there really hasn't been too many movies/shows that capture the ridiculous amount of fukkery of those times.

....got a feeling imma feel that way about A LOT of the medical practices in this show and my dude clive dikk gon fall off by the finale if he keep taking coke injections in it
