Good shout on Kei both on his chances and physical shortcomings, I do like his game tho, definitely a contender. It'll be too soon for Thiem imo, the topboys still handle him relatively easily, he's got next for sure.

I'd absolutely love for Tsonga to win this, he'd need a perfect storm of events but where there's hope. Shame he didn't beat Novak here many years ago, the way he dealt with Rafa in the Semi :banderas: Ferrer & his dry ass game can kick rocks :camby:

Rafa my fav but when he loses in a GS, it's always :damn: :wow: :ohhh: because his style of play leaves him vulnerable to a player getting hot and blasting em off the court.

AO losses:
Gonzo
Tsonga
Verdasco

FO:
Soderling

Wimbledon:
Rosol

USO:
Del Potro
Fognini

All of those memorable losses are when he gets blown off the court. Crazy that never happens to Murray, Fed, and Djokovic. At least not as regularly as it happens to Rafa

Men's matches tonight (in draw bracket order).

Murray/Querry - Should be straight sets for Muzza unless his ankle problem is severe.
Jaziri/M. Zverev - Not watching this shyt.

Federer/Berdych - Should be a good close match, hoping Fed comes through it.
Nishikori/Lacko - Easy win for Kei.

Wawrinka/Troicki - Hope Stan wins this, and should as Troicki is coming off back-to-back 5 setters.
Darcis/Seppi - Should be close, ain't watching it though.

Tsonga/Sock - Chance for young star Sock to make a name against erratic Tsonga.
Tomic/Evans - Two youngish players, Evans wins in 4.

That is one putrid side of the draw :scust:

If Wawrinka goes out and Murray gets to the final beating no names and jobbers :hhh::stopitslime:

I can't believe Novak lost. :mindblown:

Dude turns 30 in May which is old for a tennis player. And his game (like Murray's) is all about fitness, speed and returning every ball like playing against a wall. As he's got a bit older and lost a step or two, maybe lost a bit of motivation since winning all 4 slams in a row; he's becoming more vulnerable and will start declining now. Same as Federer did around that age. Murray will shortly since his game is weaponless and is based on speed and fitness, which will go with age.

I say Novak only wins 1 more slam max, if not none at all. He's currently on 12 slams, he retires on 12/13 for me. :ehh: Which is good, but behind Federer/Nedal :ehh:

I want to disagree with the prognosis of Joker = done at the top but...
“Obviously the second half of last year, there was a different priority,” Becker said. “Novak was the first one to admit that, and I think that was the main reason for me to stop this because I thought my job isn’t that important anymore obviously. Having watched the match today, I felt he tried and he played five sets and four and a half hours, but I didn’t see the intensity, didn’t see the absolute will to win, didn’t see him mentally going crazy.

“He always was very nonchalant about it, and that is not the Novak that I know. I’d rather see him break a racket or pull the shirt or something, for him to get emotional. I thought it was very even keel the whole match through, and that was unusual, and I don’t know what to make of that.”

I'd rather see Novak go down to injuries like Rafa than stop caring. This hurts.

Is Venus form that good y'all picking her?

Or y'all picking on nostalgia?

Forgot to respond to this. I picked Venus because her early round opponents looked to be easy and so far that's been the case. She'd have to face Kerber mid next week if she keeps it up and has a chance of defeating her. she just has to conserve energy
