love one handed backhands.
i used to have tennis lessons and i was the only one in our group who used it
teacher tried make me change to two hands
a good one handed backhand is the prettiest swing in the sport. hard as fukk to learn if you havent been doing it early though. i have a 2 hander myself, but randomly used a one hander in a high school doubles match back in the day and hit a winner down the line with it. felt good as fukk but i was
at it actually working. thing is, NTPR and USTA both require the pro to be able to be proficient in using and teaching both, but i have heard of them looking the other way on one handers and sometimes even exempting coaches from the performance part of the testing due to playing history.
to you and your one hander though. chances are your coach didnt really know how to teach the one hander, or was too lazy to teach two different backhands within the same group. probably wanted to keep it consistent amongst all players.thats wack though
