That is an honest take from Fed. I look at their careers like this:

Fed's early dominance made him slow to adapt his game to Nadal.

Nadal was the consummate grinder who was immediately embraced.

Djokovic used being overlooked and underappreciated as his motivation to constantly get better. The other two weren't really chasing anyone. Novak was always trailing behind them so he always had somebody to target or a number (Slams). He was able to keep that relentless motivation and drive as a result.

In a way, being the youngest child helped him the most.

Nice words from Fed. Novak having 1 major when Fed had something like 14 and clawed his way back to the number he is on now is insane. His hunger to be the best is unmatched.

Fed didn't respect his game much early on but Novak worked hard to gain that respect.

Bruh it’s wild to put into perspective how many GS he won in the 2010’s (2010 to 2019 winning 16 GS’s) same with Fed in the 2000’s winning 15 (2000-2009). Rafa won winning 13 from 2010 to 2019 rings hollow compared to those two
