One of the problems with the current top 20 is guys like Shelton can come in with a relatively underdeveloped game and still pick off a ton of wins against them. The problems is you're not beating Carlos or Novak without a complete game especially in a grand slam. The rest of those guys won't force guys like Ben to properly develop cause they're already getting beaten by Ben.
I don't think his game is underdeveloped, it's very good all round game and he mixes it up quite well just needs more consistency which should come with time.

I like watching him play because he tries different things and can go in his bag, compare that with the likes of Fritz, Rublev etc

He has a very bright future if he keeps himself grounded and surrounds himself with the right kind of people which looks to be the case.

We'll see if he wants to be great next year. There should be noticeable improvements in his game by next US Open.

Thing is we see Sinner trying to use a lot of variety, but when it's in these situations...it's hard to not have tense heavy arms and try to use touch. It's why drop shots in big points were considered low percentage shots. Carlos is different and has been practicing that for years, so it comes naturally in those moments.

For Ben, I think the focus should be on improving rally tolerance and better point construction.

One thing Ben should really work on is scoring consistently off of his backhand, especially on the run

Djokovic in this game is dicing him up easily by just attacking his backhand at almost every point

He has a lot of potential he's just still raw.

More control less power in certain moments. This will come with experience and time. Who's his coach?
