If you actually are good with/want the characters that release later, I don't really see the issue with it. The trickle down expectation is already widely known at this point. You also get colors, costumes, stages, music. etc. with that, typically. So if that means something to you upfront, it's whatever really. Options are nice to have and typically, if you want it all, it's the cheaper and/or more expedited option (sales and bigger bundles will come way way down the line). Now if you know realistically you only want like 1 character, then I hear you.
