The Sf5 beta had all the characters. Thats my point. If people just waited, we'd get a beta with more characters

What's also funny is that some of the properties of these characters can be totally different in the retail version. For example, if Juri's 6MP was nerfed down to -3 on hit instead of +4 or something like that, then that's a major tool taken away from her. You can't play her the way you did in the beta. I get getting a feel for the game, but damn you can't give folks nothing these days.

Grinding the crack only really let's you improve with using the system mechanics for sure as those are unlikely to change at all.
But I expect pretty decent character changes once it's released, especially if the demo is any indication. Also a lot of the grimy characters that are gonna be good early aren't in the beta, like the grapplers/zoners. Lots of people are gonna lose to unfamiliarity if people are playing blanka, JP, Sim, Gief, manon lol.
All that grinding just to loose to day 1 and week one characters.
Ryu is probably your most solid bet against all the foolish early on, he looks complete. If they don't nerf him more from the demo he should be pretty upper mid tier at least.

SF has always had this problem tho since SF2. Like, Vega was always stated to being 6'0, while Guile was 6'1 or 6'2 and Gief was listed as 7'0 and Gief typically looked shorter than both. Meanwhile, Vega just being on his tippy-toes towered above both of them and looked nearly as tall as Sagat's 7'2 ass. Their weight proportions be all wrong too. Sagat being as solid and tall as he is ain't no fukking way he was less than 400 lbs, but they've always had him listed in the 200's.

But yeah, Manon does look quite stiff and awkward in her standing and forward walking pose. Her actual attack animations, throws and her parry stance (on hit) look the most fluid and animates very well tho. Her build is still weird as fukk tho. I think it's kinda the point of her to look stork/swan-esque.
Indeed. Street Fighter has always had a disconnect between the way the fighters looked and how it matched their height and weight. I mean look at Blanka in SF6. He's swole as hell and his stated weight is only ~210lbs!? Blanka is physically bigger than E Honda (who weighs 301lbs). However, IIRC, Sagat was stated to be ~330lbs in Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Zangief was only ~240lbs in the same game. Insane.

Zangief's theme is good. You can hear the Russian influence and it suits him.

Lily's theme is catchy. However, it doesn't suit her. The theme is too much of a mish-mash of 'Latin American' pop genres. Blanka's theme suited him as he's Brazilain and you can hear the Brazilian influence of Samba, Bossa Nova, Carioca Funk and even the Berimbau (the stringed instrument used in Capoeira).
Lily, like her father T Hawk is a Native Mexican and her theme should've more pre-columbian Mexican influence.

Cammy's theme is great. How can a song be so minimal yet go so hard at times.

This was explained REALLY well. He mentioned specifically why I don't like JP

Capcom started going all in with the motion capturing midway through SF5 after Ono got fired. He briefly mentions it in the vid but there's a world of difference between the animation of the og cast and seasons 1/2 DLC vs season 3 and after. Menat might be the best animated model in the game then in the very next season you have that janky ass Sakura:huhldup:.

You could tell there was a lot of transitioning during that season 3 period. The game got much better of course. But the shift to majority motion capturing made the animation quality suffer for later characters. I do hope Capcom takes notice and finds a solution or middle ground

The irony is there are a LOT of artists that got into their field specifically because of Capcom's artstyle in the 90s. I don't even think Capcom themselves understand the amount of influence they've had on illustrators, animators etc
