When you go on 6th and 1st you see the Miami world center coming up. I swear on everything you rarely catch me in bytchass Wynwood. Wynwood use to be a district in overtown, I remember cacs wouldn't dare go there, now you see bearded cacs wearing hipster clothes riding their bikes there :beli:

I don't mind the fact that it got less dangerous... It's the fact that everything got expensive that bugs me

It got less dangerous but the people that lived there get screwed over. The black inner-city always get underfunded leading to more crime and poverty but when urban renewal hits the area magically gets funding and now it becomes safe

Bruh...my boy been living there for like 20 years with his fam. If they had bought their place they wouldn't be gentrified. I know there are mitigating factors, but as a community, black ppl gotta invest in themselves and their neighborhood

Under funding plays a role, lack of jobs and resources makes one just try to live to see the next day instead of investments and whatnot. Overtown is gone breh, liberty city still has some hope though

OT will keep some of it's essence. They've got some pretty good organization and have active community members.

Liberty City, pork and beans in particular, is gonna get cleaned up like they did Scott's but it's gonna stay mostly black I think

Overtown is gone breh :mjcry: the lyric and a few monuments will stay but that's it. So much history will be gone, there is 300 million going into the beans, but we'll see what happens breh, I think a lot of black people down here should invest into liberty city. Just my opinion though, it's in the middle of everywhere.

At this point, OT is still there but I believe we've crossed the tipping point.

Although, the Lyric ppl are actually working with the county to construct some great need-based affordable housing, it won't be the same. Unfortunately years or redlining and systemic abuse has left the Town's ppl with almost no ownership.

Liberty City is a GREAT place to invest right now. My dad lives on 62nd and they just built a new affordable housing building there that's quite nice, they've got 2 more going up on 69th and they're fixing all the roads around there. Add that to the upcoming Liberty Square project and the area is gonna be really worth the investment for property owners.

My OG lives off 79th St and the county alone with the CRA are redoing all of 7th Ave all the way up to the Golden Glades....79th Street is brand new and looking nice all the way from 1-95 to the new Wal-Mart across from the Flea Market.

This shyt is about to boom IMO, if I had the extra cash I'd look for some wise investments in the area.

The key to all of this is that these are a couple of the few places that are still relatively affordable to live in yet close to the action and jn the heart of the county.

A lot of black entrepreneurs that are involved in the community are selling their homes in weston/coral gables and moving back to the city. I plan on doing so in a year or so, I'm in Broward now. There is many homes that the urban league is building in Liberty city that is affordable, I just wish a lot of us realize that liberty city is the closest we can get to having a renaissance here. There's things going on in the beans that will help the people there but I can't fully speak on it at the moment.

Anybody heard about this wynwood life event? My friends shared it on Facebook but she said she gotta find out if kids can go since they have two babies. Would love to go tho. Looks like it might be interesting. And it gives me something to do also. Apparently the ying yang twins are gonna be there. Didn't know they were still relevant.

Not only that, but Liberty City actually has a tiny bit of a Black working-class/middle-class left. Liberty City is much more than just projects. There are still alot of decent(but small) single family homes in Liberty City. Liberty City has so much potential. LC can really be a shiny new Black district if people just out their heads together.
