From what I understood there are two main Muslim "centers of influence" in France: the Grande Mosquée de Paris (the main Mosque in Paris) and the Conseil Français du Culte Musulman. From what I understood, this "Conseil" decided it should start yesterday (Tuesday) while the Mosque said it should start today (Wednesday). Finally they all agreed that it should start today.

I have no idea how they can't just set a date worlwide and stick to it, or at least discuss about it sometime BEFORE they actually think it should start (because some french muslims already started yesterday due to the confusion).

From what I understand it has to deal w the moon.... and I guess I was supposed to start a day later because of where I was at, at the time.. but I just started when Detroit started because thats my area anyway.

Try to commit as many good deeds as possible during this month friends, no matter how small. Allah multiplies the reward for your deeds an untold amount during this month, so the smallest deed could amount as a heavy weight on our scales of good, brehs. Mufti Menk on youtube offers daily pearly of wisdom in ramadan for us all to reflect on in this wonderful month.
